CCA Finals Rodeo brings best of the best to Swift Current

The Canadian Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo will once again land in Swift Current for its fourth straight year. The event takes place Oct. 16-19, and it promises to be an exhilarating experience for all who come out to take in the sights and sounds as Canada’s elite rodeo athletes put it all on the line to stake their claim to the title of best of best.

“This is the championship for all the buckles and saddles,” says CCA partnership marketing representative Lenora Bells. “This is probably the best rodeo anyone who loves rodeo can come out to. It has the best cowboys and cowgirls. It has the best stock. It is among the best rodeos in Canada, really.

“You are going to get the best ground-pounding action, and it’s going to be exciting. I think it is going to be one of the best ever, and you don’t want to miss it,” she proclaims.

This year’s CCA Finals Rodeo will feature 110 cowboys competing in all seven main rodeo events. There will also be two junior and three novice rodeo events. Besides the five CCA rodeos spread out across four days, there will also be daily and nightly entertainment for all ages.

Highlights this year include the South West Showcase Trade Show, featuring 87 vendors, the Saskatchewan Rope Horse Futurity competition on Oct. 17, the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association Rodeo on Oct. 18 and the CCA Rodeo Finals cabaret featuring Buckshot with Tyler Lewis to cap off four fantastic days of entertainment.

Bells wants to encourage everyone and anyone throughout southern Alberta and Saskatchewan to come out and enjoy this spectacular indoor event at Innovation Credit Union iPlex.

“It’s four days of really good family entertainment,” she says. “It’s a great way to celebrate the harvest, and a great way to top off the CCA rodeo season. And you will get some old-fashioned, western hospitality while you are here.
